I’d love to find an antique bar cart. It’s on my list, but I’m ready to be patient and wait to find the right one. A bar cart is somewhat elegant, but it also says, “Welcome, I’d love to pour you a drink anytime.” It makes a great statement against a bare wall, or wheeled into a dining room corner. The bar car isn’t gender specific; I love the touch of masculinity of dark amber liquids. Don’t consume or serve enough alcohol to warrant a fully stocked bar cart? That’s okay – it’s such a versatile piece. It would look lovely piled with small potted succulents, or other indoor houseplants. Use one to house beautiful books when you don’t want to hide the covers stacked together on a shelf. Pull a bar cart outside in the summer, and stack with plates, silverware, napkins, and beverages for outdoor entertaining.
